Cardboard drums, so-called fiber drums, are – according to our understanding – not that sustainable: In addition to the combination of kraftliner, metal and plastic, they are characterized by their high dead weight, awkward use of space during transport, high storage space requirements and complex time-consuming use. They can be tricky and expensive in disposal.
Even conventional cardboard boxes are often not that easy to use and require manual work taping.

Hazardous goods must be shipped safely. Accordingly, companies make quite some effort to pack dangerous goods safely.
Our cardboard boxes have passed all test to fulfill all standards for use as packaging for dangerous goods of the highest packaging group. They can be used to pack all dangerous goods that are approved for packaging in cardboard boxes according to the ADR (Accident Data Recorder).
The Federal Institute for Materials and Testing (BAM), Germany, approved its use and issued the necessary approval certificate.

The innovative packaging concept from Packengeers enables a redesign of the packaging supply chain. Delivered flat (2nd dimension only), the truck´s loading area is optimally used for inbound material. The three-dimensional packaging is built when it is upfolded shortly before use. It is in no way inferior to conventional packaging solutions, often superior.

Corrugated cardboard is a highly versatile material: with the right use of the corrugation, an extreme physical stability is possible with limited use of material.
The innovative folding mechanism, protected besides others by the German Patent and Trademark office (DPMA), saves more than a third of weight compared to commercially available competitive packaging.

There are many factors to be considered for calculating CO2 savings. Here, we can only provide general hints, a case by case calculation is what we recommend to calculate the CO2 footprint :

In a supply chain, the CO2 footprint strongly depends on the mode of transportation. Train or truck makes a difference.
Data on the fuel consumption of trucks differ greatly. For vehicles with a total weight of 25 t, a consumption of 30-40 l per 100 km is not unrealistic.
The corresponding CO2 Emissions per 100 km correspond to 88-117 kg. Simply by avoiding trips that are no longer necessary, CO2 emissions get reduced by up to 70%.
